Who are we?

Objectives

To develop relationships with people from new immigrant communities and for representatives from these communities in order to build community cohesion.

To establish an active women’s group in order to engage this under-represented group in multi-faith work.
To promote healthy living in order to improve the health and well being of WAMCF members and local BME communities.

To develop activities for young people in order to engage them in community events and work that will minimise conflict and promote friendship.

bullet

To maintain excellent working relationships with partner organisations (public, voluntary and private) in order to maximise the use of resources and work to achieve common goals.
 

What we do?

The Windsor and Maidenhead Community Forum has been formed in order:

To provide a meeting point for members of this multi-racial, multi faith and multi-cultural community, and others groups coming within the orbit of the BME (Black, minority and ethnic) definition

bullet

To develop the quality of life for all residents, particularly focussing on those within the definition a) above, recognising the enrichment to be gained from other faiths and cultures.
 

Purpose

To provide a meeting point for members of this multi-racial community and to develop the quality of life for all residents, in the belief that there is tremendous enrichment to be gained from people of all faiths.

Develop friendly relations among the members through promoting shared spiritual, social and cultural activities

Work together to combat any prejudice, injustice, and intolerance in the community of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, and to encourage respect, for the equal rights and freedoms of men and women

Help members solve problems by joint action where appropriate

Emphasise those aspects of community life that further the growth of mutual understanding, goodness, brotherhood, justice and peace.

Advance the education and understanding of all people for good citizenship in this multi racial, multi faith and multi-cultural society.

Pledge, through its member faith, racial, or cultural groups, to come to the support of any group threatened by unlawful intimidation, action or terrorist threat or attack.

Bring together in the Forum representatives of the community committed to the advancement of the above purposes in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, as defined in the above clauses
