Brahma Kumaris: Shivratri

For Brahma Kumaris, Shivratri represents the end of the old world (Kaliyuga) and the beginning of a new, pure world — symbolising spiritual transformation and renewal. Brahma Kumaris observe it with intense meditation, silence, and introspection, often for the entire night, reflecting on the destruction of old habits, negativity, and ego, and the rebirth of soul consciousness. The focus is on connecting deeply with the incorporeal Shiva (the Supreme Soul) rather than ritualistic offerings or temple visits. This night is a spiritual reset, where followers aim to purify thoughts, strengthen virtues, and prepare for a higher state of spiritual awareness, aligning with Brahma Baba’s teachings on self-transformation and Godly remembrance.
