Islam: Eid-Ul-Fitr

Eid ul-Fitr is an important Islamic festival that marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. It is a day of gratitude, prayer, and celebration, when Muslims gather for special congregational prayers, give charity (Zakat al-Fitr), and share meals with family and community.

Because Islam follows a lunar calendar, the date of Eid is determined by the sighting of the new moon. In 2026, Eid ul-Fitr is expected to fall around 20 or 21 March, depending on moon sighting.
