Hinduism is one of the world’s oldest and most diverse religions, with origins tracing back over 4,000 years in the Indian subcontinent. Unlike many other major religions, Hinduism does not have a single founder, central scripture, or universally accepted set of teachings. Instead, it encompasses a wide range of beliefs, practices, and philosophies. At its heart, Hinduism is about seeking truth, living a life of dharma (moral duty), and striving for moksha—liberation from the cycle of birth and rebirth (samsara).

The faith is deeply spiritual and philosophical, rooted in ancient texts like the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and Ramayana. These writings explore profound questions about life, the universe, and the nature of the divine. Hindus believe in one supreme reality, Brahman, which manifests in many forms and deities, such as Vishnu, Shiva, and Devi. These gods and goddesses are seen as different aspects of the same ultimate truth.

Hindu practices vary widely but often include prayer (puja), meditation, yoga, chanting mantras, and participating in festivals like Diwali, Holi, and Navratri. Many Hindus follow a vegetarian diet and live by the principle of ahimsa, or non-violence. Family and community life are highly valued, and spiritual growth is seen as a lifelong journey.

Hinduism encourages personal reflection, respect for all living beings, and harmony with the world. Its teachings are not rigid, allowing individuals to explore and interpret their faith in a way that resonates with their own spiritual path. As a result, Hinduism remains a deeply meaningful and evolving tradition for millions around the globe.
