Islam is a monotheistic faith that believes in the existence of one God, Allah (swt), and holds that Muhammad is His final prophet. The core of Islamic belief is that there is no god but Allah (swt), and Muhammad is the messenger who conveyed Allah’s will to humanity through the Qur’an, which is regarded as the sacred and unaltered word of God. Muslims believe in the concept of Tawhid, the oneness of God, and affirm that all aspects of life should align with His will. Islam teaches that life is a test, and the goal is to worship Allah, uphold justice, and live a virtuous life in preparation for the afterlife.
Muslims follow the Five Pillars of Islam, which are the foundation of their faith and practice: declaring the faith (Shahada), performing regular prayers (Salah), giving to charity (Zakat), fasting during Ramadan (Sawm), and undertaking a pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj). These pillars guide Muslims in their daily lives and spiritual journeys. Islam also stresses the importance of moral conduct, compassion, and social justice, with an emphasis on community, family, and care for the less fortunate. Across the world, Islam has a rich diversity of cultures, but its core beliefs and practices bind its followers in a shared commitment to faith, unity, and peace.
